Pacenotes are a way of describing the stage. There are several different "systems" that are used, with each corner being graded by a number or description. However, pacenotes are a very personal thing and each driver will have a slightly different way of describing the same stage.
Justin Dale uses a "1 to 9" system, where the number is approximately equal to the bend angle in degrees. (e.g. a "5" is 50°, a "9" is 90°)
