'SPOT ON' CLIO
'Spot on' was Justin Dales' description of the Autosport Technology Renault Clio Ragnotti after a recent test session at the Phil Price rally complex in Wales. The Hampshire based driver had his first experience of driving the Clio on gravel, having only previously driven the car round the Mallory Park circuit at BRC Live!
The team spent a productive day fine tuning the Ohlin suspension to suit the Kumho tyres and Justin's driving style. The brake material compounds and set up were also tested to find the optimum formula for Justin.
At the end of the day Justin was pleased with the progress made. "The Clio was good at Mallory Park and I was very happy with how it felt when I drove it at the start of today but the small changes we have made during the test have made it even better - now its spot on! I'm really looking forward to competing on the BRC again with a few other familiar faces - it should be a good year".
The team are currently finalising their preparations for the first round of the Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship, the Carlisle based Pirelli International Rally on May 13th/14th.
1999 and 2002 British Super 1600 Champions Dale and co driver Andrew Bargery are supported in their 2006 BRC campaign by Gilbran, Kumho tyres, King Sturge, Graham Properties and Speedline.
